The Mozambique Islands

Bazaruto Islands -The Bazaruto Archipelago is made up of five islands yacht2(in order of size: Bazaruto, Benguerra, Magaruque, Santa Carolina and Bangue). Bazaruto offers unspoiled coral pink beaches, world class deep sea fishing, salt water fly fishing, scuba diving and snorkeling. Its is the ideal location for a number of diving & angling holidays including deep sea, fly fishing (fresh and salt water) and spear fishing.

Quirimbas -The Quirimbas Island Archipelago has been recognised coralreefas the world’s best diving and fishing destination, and fishing a little further south in the Bazaruto Archipelago, and offshore from Inhambane is also a very rewarding fishing & diving destination. The Bazaruto Archipelago is, in fact, recognised as one of the best destinations in the world for black marlin. Bazaruto is Africa’s most productive area for Marlin (Black, Blue and Striped) and Sailfish as well as warm water game fish such as Giant Kingfish, Wahoo, King Mackerel, Dorado and Bonito. October to March are the prime Marlin months with June to September being best for Sailfish

Fogo Island-Ilha Do Fogo (island of Fire) covers an area of approx 44fogo hectares and has a circumference of 3.5km. It is situated off the coast of mainland Mozambique and forms part of the Primeira archipelago. The pristine island is uninhabitated and is the cliche of an ideal tropical paradise. With a white wrap around beach, surrounded by unspoilt coral reef and an abundance of sea life, Fogo Island is a rare hidden gem.

Bassas Da India-Bassas da India is an uninhabited, roughly circular silvercoral atoll about 10 km in diameter. It is located in the southern Mozambique Channel. This is a destination for the adventurous diver or ambitious fisher, someone who has dived the world’s top spots and is now looking for the ultimate experience. Few people have heard of Bassa da India and even fewer have had the chance to dive this site which can only be reached by private charter yacht.
